Embodied Pedagogies
Embodied Pedagogies: Repositioning the Secondary Classroom for Deeper Learning
How can we teach in ways that truly engage the whole learner? This full-day workshop invites secondary educators to explore the science and art of attention, space, and emotional connection - the core of embodied pedagogies. Beginning with whole-cohort strategies for student focus, wellbeing, and connection, the session progresses into adaptable approaches suitable for all disciplines and subject areas. Educators will:
Discover how embodiment enhances attention, motivation, and memory
Reimagine learning spaces as interactive, emotionally intelligent environments
Try out spatial and sensory strategies for deep concept engagement
Connect learning to personal, social and environmental contexts
